Bitcoin’s Mining Difficulty Shrinks for the First Time in 4 Weeks

Bitcoin’s mining difficulty remains high compared to its peak in mid-August 2022. On Aug. 17, 2022, right before the third highest difficulty increase of the year, the difficulty was 28.35 trillion. Data shows that the difficulty has increased to 36.76 trillion since August 17, making it 29% harder to find a block of bitcoin ( Bitcoin) today than in mid-August.

Although the drop of 0.20% is small, it’s still a significant improvement over the difficulty increasing higher. Bitcoin’s total hashrate at the time of writing is 269.86 exahash per sec (EH/s). According to records, BTC’s lifetime total hashrate high ( 321.15EH/s), which was set on October 5, 2022 has been broken by a new record set on Oct. 31, 2022. At block height 761.186, Bitcoin’s total havehrate hit an all-time record at 327.35EH/s.

Block generation time has slowed down, which is why the network’s mining difficulty fell. At the time of writing block intervals are less than 10 minutes. The block generation time, currently at 10 minutes and six second, means that the block intervals are only slightly longer. At the moment, this means that a further difficulty decrease is possible when the system changes on Nov. 20, 2022. But, miners can still expect a lot to change in just two weeks, or 2,016 blocks. The recent reduction of 0.20% helps them.

Bitmain’s S19XP Hydro Bitcoin Mining Rig with 255 Terahash is the most profitable mining device

Three-day statistics show Foundry USA is the leader in today’s top Bitcoin mining pools. Foundry holds 31.47% of global hashrate and has 84.07 EH/s of SHA256 hashpower dedicated for the Bitcoin chain. Antpool, F2pool and Binance Pool follow Foundry. With 10.59 EH/s, or 3.96% of global hashrate, the sixth largest pool position is held by stealth miners or unknown hashrate.

After more than 77,000 blocks have been mined, the fourth block subsidy epoch of Bitcoin or the next block reward halves is expected to take place between April 13th and April 22nd 2024. The Bitmain Antminer XP Hyd. has 255 terahash/second (TH/s) and is currently the most profitable bitcoin mining device. Bitmain’s model makes $11.01 per day at a high electricity rate of $0.12/kWh. The Antminer S19XP Hyd would be able to make $0.07 per kWh electricity costs. You can make an average of $15.51 per hour in profits
